Adentro seeks to engage with the Afro-Latin ancestry, through text, contemporary form and music. Choreographer Megan Curet engages the audience with an evening of moving dialogue. Two pieces which aim to fuse the then and the now of her Puerto Rican heritage. S I S T E M A explores the systems in which our bodies move within or rather how those systems move the individual body. Isla examines the one year anniversary of Hurricane Maria on the Island of Puerto Rico. Rather than adhere to a strict narrative Curet Performance Project levels with the abstract movement of contemporary dance and the rhythmic soul of Afro-Latin sounds to bring you an evening preview of the latest works. Adentro seeks to take the audience into the lived experience of the American Puerto Rican. Going deeper to find that we are more connected than we thought. Join us for a Gibney POP performance to experience both works in an evening length preview, drawn in by the intimate setting of Studio C. Spaces is limited and RSVP is required. 20$ Cash Donation Upon arrival. Late comers will forfeit evening seat.
