S Karlan is the pseudonym of a NYC Government official who would rather remain anonymous and let his or her plays do all the talking. In this newest collection, under the direction of Roger Gonzalez, we takes you deep into the mind of an average couple confronting their daily fears, real or not; explore our obsession with the perfect physique and other desires we don't always want to admit we have; travel to a modern day "film noir" style crime story filled with lust, deception, and a gun in the wrong hands; we go "cat-fishing" for love in a digital world where nothing is real and the players love it that way; and we make assumptions about the things around us that betray the mind... Are they real characters, figments of our imagination, or a moment in S Karlan's life that the playwright is willing to share, but not confess to have lived? You decide in this evening of short plays and one-acts that are an introduction to the upcoming S Karlan Short Play Festival in 2019! Described by LocalTheatreNY.com as "a playwright with a twisted perspective that is all too real and worth exploring." Returning to the Historic 13th Street Repertory Theatre November 21 - December 2, 2018.
