A Historic Hotel as Colorful as NYC’s Original Muse
A tribute to Evelyn Nesbit — the Gibson Girl of the century — Evelyn Hotel celebrates the heritage of one of NYC's most historic neighborhoods. After it was originally designed by William H. Birkmire in 1903, the hotel became a fixture of New York City's Tin Pan Alley, the epicenter to the world's most popular music publishing houses of the era. During its heyday in the early 20th century, Tin Pan Alley served as a host to Broadway and vaudeville performers, musicians, and songwriters, including George Gershwin, coming and going to and from the music houses.
