Discover Why Everyone Loves The Evelyn

I want to start with the positives as clearly with my 4 star rating there are many. I’m big on cleanliness and this hotel was very nice and clean from the lobby to the room and the bathrooms within the room. I very much appreciate that - I believe it was Mario who had cleaned our room so thank you. The breakfast that is included is great. Good options and anything you pick is enjoyable. Great location if you don’t mind walking a few minutes to get to the major attractions. I wish I could give this hotel a 5 star but the reason I am not is solely based off the day time front desk staff. I have never been to any hotel where I was treated with such coldness and blatant rudeness. After driving almost 10 hours to get here, we were not greeted with a single smile and were not made to feel welcome. In fact it was quite the opposite. We felt like we were a problem for simply checking in. I would like to point out and make it abundantly clear that although we were told an early check in was an option, once arriving that was not the case. This was not the issue. The issue is how the situation was handled but most importantly how we were spoken to and treated. If you are in the hospitality business and you cannot even force a smile then there is a problem. It doesn’t not make guests feel good. I would not write this based off one experience but this attitude continued our entire stay and not just with me personally but sitting in the lobby I could see no one was smiled at or treated with any warmth. I would never single someone out on a review but I’m sure management is aware of the individual as they truly seemed miserable. The gentlemen working the night shift were much more pleasant and inviting. I had followed the Evelyn’s Instagram a few weeks prior to travelling and continuously saw positive reviews about the staff (and still do today, which is what prompted me to write this) which is another reason I find this so disheartening and will honestly be unfollowing them although I give the building and the food 4 stars they need alot of improvement on the first impression they are giving and the level of hospitality they want to achieve in a city with 1 millions hotels.

We recently stayed at this hotel for my sisters 30th birthday and we really loved it. The concierge was wonderful to work with for a special surprised that I had planned for my sister. I ordered balloons and coordinated with them to set them up along with a pastry and her favorite Diet Coke. Everything was perfect and we really loved it there. Albeit the room was small but being in Manhattan and it being a boutique hotel, that was expected and we didn’t mind it at all. It was perfect for the two of us. The location was also amazing, it was so close to everything and very conveniently located a short walk to a few trains. Overall we would definitely stay here again, it was clean, well taken care of and the staff was wonderful.

Durante il nostro soggiorno a New York, abbiamo avuto il piacere di alloggiare al The Evelyn Hotel, situato nel cuore di Manhattan, a pochi passi da Flatiron e Madison Square Park. Questo boutique hotel ci ha conquistati per la sua atmosfera accogliente ed eleganza. La posizione è uno dei suoi punti di forza perchè è centrale ma comunque lontano dal caos. Inoltre si trova in un bellissimo edificio storico. La nostra camera era accogliente, spaziosa e il letto era comodissimo. Inoltre il Wi-Fi è affidabile. Assolutamente consigliato!
