Miller will discuss his historic exhibition on view September 17, 2018- January 6, 2019, which highlights the main phases of the Delacroix's four-decade-long career. Asher Miller, Assistant Curator, received a BA in history and art history from Bowdoin College and a PhD from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Since coming to the Met as a research assistant, in 2001, he has contributed to numerous publications, exhibitions, and gallery installations. A specialist in 19th-century European art, recent areas of interest range from Ingres and Delacroix to Courbet, plein air painting, northern artists working in Italy, and Orientalism.
